How Syncing Works

Automatic Synchronisation

  • Bank transactions are automatically synced via a scheduled background job

  • The system fetches transactions from the last synced date to today

  • Duplicate transactions are automatically detected and skipped

  • New transactions are created as Bank Transaction records

Transaction Data

Each synced transaction includes:

Field

Description

Transaction Date

Date the transaction occurred

Deposit/Withdrawal

Amount credited or debited

Description

Transaction description from the bank

Reference Number

Bank reference for the transaction

Particulars

NZ bank-specific particulars field

Code

NZ bank-specific code field

Party Name

Merchant or payee name (when available)

Party Account

Other party's account number (when available)

After Syncing

Once transactions are imported, they appear in the Bank Reconciliation tool where you can:

  • Match transactions to existing invoices and payments

  • Create new journal entries for unmatched transactions

  • Reconcile your bank account balance
