# Logging in and accessing your site

This page covers how to reach NexWave, sign in, and recover access if you are locked out.

## Your site URL

Each NexWave customer runs on their own dedicated site. Your URL follows the pattern:

```
https://<your-organisation>.nw-erp.io
```

Your administrator will share the exact URL during onboarding. Bookmark it: you will use it every day.

If you have a custom domain (for example, `erp.yourcompany.co.nz`), the same login flow applies; only the URL changes.

## Signing in

1. Open your site URL in a modern browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari, latest versions).
2. Enter your **email address** and **password**.
3. Click **Login**.

By default you land on the home workspace assigned to your role. From there the side menu lets you jump to any other module you have permission to access.

## Forgot your password?

1. On the login screen, click **Forgot Password**.
2. Enter your email address and click **Reset**.
3. Check your inbox (and your spam folder) for a reset link from the system. The link is single-use and expires after a short window.
4. Click the link, set a new password, and sign in.

If the reset email never arrives, your administrator can issue a fresh link directly from the User record.

## First-time login

The first time you sign in, you may be prompted to:

* **Set a new password**, replacing the temporary one your administrator provided.
* **Set your time zone and language**: defaults to your organisation's locale, but you can override per user.
* **Acknowledge the terms of use**, if your organisation has enabled them.

You can revisit any of these later from your user profile (top-right avatar > **My Settings**).

## Logging out

Click your avatar in the top-right corner and select **Log out**. For shared computers, log out at the end of every session.

## Common access issues

* **"Invalid login"**: triple-check the email address (NexWave is case-insensitive on the email but the password is case-sensitive). If you are sure the password is correct, request a reset.
* **"User disabled"**: your administrator has deactivated the account. Contact them to re-enable it.
* **"Site cannot be reached"**: the most common cause is being off the corporate VPN if your site is restricted to a private network. Otherwise check your internet connection or whether the site has been temporarily taken down for maintenance.
* **Stuck on a loading screen**: hard-refresh the page (Ctrl+F5 on Windows, Cmd+Shift+R on macOS). If that does not help, clear your browser cache for the site.

## Browser and device support

NexWave is a web application, so it runs anywhere a modern browser does:

* **Desktop**: Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari (latest two major versions).
* **Tablet**: works in landscape on iPads and Android tablets; some dense list views feel cramped on small screens.
* **Mobile**: usable for approvals, quick lookups, and time entry. For data entry on full forms, a desktop is recommended.
